West Virginia's Cranberry Back Country & Cranberry Wilderness offer the State's finest trout fishing . Llamas are an elite pack animal, commonly seen packing hunting and fishing trips, particularly throughout the West. They are the perfect pack animal for a fishing trip; they are very steady, quiet, clean, sure-footed, willingly go where they're led, and don't tear up the trail as other pack animals do.* Our seasoned pack llamas will carry all gear and supplies. (But they won't carry people.)We catch Brook, Brown, and Rainbow Trout, and access open fishing, catch-and-release, and fly fishing only streams. Our fishing guides are the best. Great meals included, prepared by your guides. This trip is suitable for anglers from beginner through expert, as your fishing guide is also ready to teach you as you require. FISHING THE CRANBERRY Unlike out west where there is an early season before the thaw and the real fishing doesn't start until after the snows melt (Mid-July), our fishing in West Virginia is usually at its peak from the 15th of May through the month of June . Conditions usually remain good through July and into early August, rainfall permitting. This year conditions were good until the middle of August. Our late summer/early fall fishing is dependent on the weather in the tropics. Typically speaking, September is our driest month and not the month to be fishing in West Virginia. Conditions generally are very good again for most of the months of October and November. Flyfishing the Cranberry River a few days before the leaves really begin to fall is a favorite annual event. 3-days/2-nights. We observe a two-guest minimum, six-guest maximum per trip. One fishing guide per 2-3 guests. We include: •Delicious meals •Tents •Transportation •Use of flies, leader, tippet •Personal instruction in the art of fly casting for the beginner or tips for the more advanced fly fisher •Instruction in short line and indicator nymph casting •Techniques on dry fly presentation, wading, stalking •A photo record of the trip RATE: |
