| Originally, our intent was to create the ultimate wilderness lodge. Kayaking was something we did just for fun. So much fun, in fact, that we have become quite serious about our schools. Our concept is simple. Keep it small, personable, private, and first class. Build a lodge large enough to sleep twelve but cozy enough for two. Build in an outdoor hot tub, a wood-fired sauna, a personal deck for each room, and hardwood floors. Hundreds of square feet of glass complement the surrounding forest and, while many consider our lodge quite unique, it is our location that dazzles. Pristine, rugged mountains, and thousands of acres of wilderness surround you. It is intensely beautiful, remote, and the emerald-green (California) Salmon River (3/4 of a mile of it, to be exact) is located on the property. | Please note, Otter Bar Lodge is not located near any bars, restaurants or commercial establishments of any kind. We recommend these vacations for those who really wish to get away. There is a small country store fifteen miles away with gas. We serve wine with dinner but anything else is BYOB. We are truly dedicated to making this one of the ultimate vacation experiences of your life.
