PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE INFORMATION

Photography Package - $79 (plus tax)
The video tells the story while the stills capture the moment. A 3 to 5 minute VHS video with music and special effects, and a FREE roll of 36 stills (35mm print film).
What kind of Video can I expect?
A 3 to 5 minute film of your skydive dubbed on to a VHS tape with music and special effects. We expect to film you at various times from when you leave the classroom to after your landing. However, because of the number of variables, the only part we guarantee is the freefall phase. Bonus footage that we try to incorporate may include climbing into the aircraft, takeoff, the climb to altitude, exit, under canopy, and landing.

How long before I receive my video?
We always try to deliver the same day but because of the special effects we put into the production and the variables of skydiving, we sometimes have to mail. This will take 3-5 days. We will, however, mail it for free.

What kind of still photos can I expect?
Fabulous. After your skydive, you will be given the 36 exposure roll of film taken during your skydive. Having the negatives yourself allows you the freedom to have enlargements and multiple copies made suitable for a variety of applications. Some of these applications may include greeting cards, post cards, and business cards.

Should I give advance notice?
Sure. We need to schedule staff to meet your needs and the advance notice allows us to better serve you.

Can I take my own camera with me?
No. You will be too busy with your skydive to look after your camera. It may be very easily lost or broken, being 2 miles above the Earth and going 120 mph, you will have enough distractions!

Can I have my friends take video or stills of me?
Sure. They will be able to take pictures of you under canopy and while landing. They will probably be able to take close-ups of you after your skydive.

Can the camera person film more than one person (or, can my friend and I share the video)?
No. The time/distance gap between exits preclude a camera person from being able to film more than one student per jump.

What if I come from a country that has a different video signal protocol such as PAL or SECAM?
No problem. Our on site photography company can convert to these other protocals for a small fee.

SkyDiving FAQs

Falling In FormationWhy Skydive?
Puts all your earthly fears into manageable perspective. Inspires such complete focus of attention, that all other worries, aggravations and frustrations are forgotten. Charges you with such energy and spirit, that vitality lost to the mundane world snaps back with invigorating speed. Inspires freedom of spirit. Attracts some of the most interesting people on earth. We've been doing it for so long, that to us, skydiving is mostly fun.

How long will it take to make my first jump?
For a tandem, plan 1/2 day
For AFF & S/L, plan 1 full day

What do I wear?
Comfortable clothing and athletic shoes.

Can I get pictures of my skydive?
Yes, Video and 35mm stills are available at an additional charge.

What will the skydive feel like?
The sensation of freefall is more like flying than falling. The parachute flight is quiet and inspiring.

How will it feel when the parachute opens?
You will definitely know that something is happening, but few people have complained of any discomfort.

What kind of parachute will we use?
The parachutes used are specially designed, large "ram-airs". A "ram-air" is a high-technology square parachute, as opposed to the old-style round parachutes.

What happens if the parachute doesn't open?
In the very unlikely event that the main parachute doesn't open properly, there is a reserve parachute in the top of the container which has been inspected and packed by a FAA certificated parachute rigger. All of our reserve parachutes are equipped with the most reliable and modern AAD's (Automatic Activation Device) available, the CYPRES. SkyDance utilizes this system for your enhanced safety. This is a backup system only.

How long does the skydive last?
15 to 60 seconds of freefall and 3 to 5 minutes under the parachute.

Isn't the landing like jumping off a two-story building?
NO! If that were the case, there would be no skydiving, because everyone would have broken legs! In the early days of sport parachuting, landings were sometimes quite hard. The new "ram-air" parachutes of today allow landings that feel equivalent to hopping off a step 1-2' high.

Will I be scared?
Maybe, and maybe not. You will definitely feel a surge of excitement and anticipation before the jump...this is a normal part of the experience. During the jump itself, you'll probably feel a thrill that you've never experienced before - enjoy it!
