| Our mission is to make it possible for almost anyone to truly experience the spirit of Alaska's Inside Passage. Most visitors to the Inside Passage see "the sights" only from a sidewalk or through the window of a noisy ship. But to truly experience and understand the essence of Alaska's wilderness we have to get away from roads, trails, buildings, and engines. We have to voyage to the productive areas still teeming with wildlife. And we must do so quietly and gently, with respect for the non-human inhabitants. Most potential adventurers think they cannot safely and enjoyably venture into the heart of the Alaskan wilderness on its own terms, sleeping in a tent and traveling under their own power. But with our help they can, even if their age, physical conditioning, past experience, or limited wilderness knowledge suggest otherwise. We provide all the equipment, training, and support you need to make your wilderness adventure easy, safe, educational, and fun! | ![]() |
| Mountains meet the sea in a maze of islands and waterways inhabited by an astonishing variety and abundance ofwildlife. The Inside Passage is a wild, magical place far removed from most people's experience. Enormous glaciers continue to carve this primeval landscape. Old growth rain forest cloaks the islands in moss and silence. Here, in and around the world's largestprotected wilderness area, flourish the others - endangered wildlife like whales, bears, eagles, and wolves - who avoid human dwellings. The regional hub is Juneau, Alaska's capital city. Spirit Walker Expeditions is based about 50 miles west of Juneau in Gustavus, and most of our trips depart from here. | ![]() |
