How to Get Started For those who would like to buy a lesson before deciding to become a pilot, we offer the Full Flight Lesson for $120 and Discovery Tandem Flights for $199. This includes the pre-lesson orientation session, a flight training session on the training slopes, and ground school.

If you have decided to become a pilot, but you want some experience before choosing your personal equipment, we offer the 5 lesson New Pilot Package for $495. We provide glider and flying equipment and flight training. Additional lessons can be purchased at the package discount of $99 Per day. Your first goal is the USHGA Beginner Rating.

At any time, you can convert your package to the Equipment Purchase Plan. After purchasing an equipment package from Windsports Soaring you can buy lessons for $75 per day.

If you have purchased lessons, but not taken them yet, you can convert them to Equipment Purchase Plan lessons. The price difference will be applied to your equipment purchase. For example if you have three unused $99 lessons, we will credit $72 to your equipment costs.

We encourage you to buy your personal flight equipment as soon as you are sure you want to become a pilot. Beyond the obvious lesson discount, you also benefit from training on your own equipment. Training is more consistent when you fly the same equipment each day. You can potentially get more flights during your lesson, with no waiting for a shared shop glider. When you are ready to practice on your own after earning the Novice Rating, you will be thoroughly familiar with your own wing. And there is nothing like an investment to really solidify that commitment to practice that will make you a full fledged pilot sooner.

Simply give Windsports a call and arrange a lesson day to meet your schedule. Flight training is available 7 days a week and payments are easy by telephone with Mastercard or Visa.

Long Pants and comfortable running shoes are recommended. Bring plenty of water to drink between flights.

Your first training day includes an orientation session, followed by at least 10 flights from our gentle training slope. Class size is limited to no more than 6 students. You'll have ample opportunities to practice your take-offs, straight flight skills, and landings during this exciting flying day.

The Dockwieler Sate Beach Hang Gliding Training Park is the ideal place to learn to hang glide! The gentle slopes of sand, and the smooth coastal breezes provide the perfect setting for practicing the basics of hang glider flight

WHERE TO GO
The flight park is located approximately 1 mile south of Los Angeles Airport on the beach side of Vista Del Mar. Take the 405 Fwy to the 105 Fwy West. Continue west until Vista Del Mar and turn left (south). Drive 1/2 mile to the first parking lot entrance on your right. The Training Park is at the south end of the parking lot.

WHEN TO ARRIVE
If possible, please arrive a few minutes early to your lesson to begin your enrollment process. Flight lessons average 2-3 hours.

WHAT TO BRING
Wear long pants and comfortable running shoes. Dress in layers. Water and sunscreen are also recommended. A newly built snack bar is not yet open to the public, so if you like, you may bring a lunch and drinks.
